To be alone is to be misunderstood.
To be misunderstood is to have nobody in your life see things from your perspective. To love you for who you are.
To be in despair is to feel misunderstood.
To be hopeless is to know nothing but despair.
To fail is to conform.
We’re just a bunch of dreamers. A bunch of fighting dreamers.
Misunderstood. Misfits. We never quite fit in.
We always had our own thoughts. Our own ways.
There was nowhere I could just be myself.
There was school. And then college. And then the friends that would hang out with us. Just people we got lumped together with. I could take it or leave it.
Do we really choose our friends when we’re young? Not really.
Society picks them for us. I hate society.
People used to say we were shady. People used to make fun of us and talk shit behind our backs. They probably still do.
Funny thing is, we don’t care anymore.
We’re just a bunch of dreamers.
We dream of better days. Of making our parents proud. Of being acknowledged for who we are.
We are just a bunch of misfits who want to prove our worth to the world. We know that the only way we can do it is show them they were wrong all along.
We want to show them with love. We want to smile in the face of their hate and jealousy. We want to laugh when they are afraid. We want to hear them say “it’s impossible” and then do it.
We want it to be hard, but fun. We don’t like doing things the easy way.
Most of all, we want to help our friends. Our mission: to reach our dreams. Our friends are those that risk their lives for the sake of the mission.
We know that every day we show up, we risk our lives. Every single one of us is risking their lives. We gave up school, love, conformity, comfort to be part of this ninja team that risks and risks.
We paid the price, and damn right we’re going to get our value.
We’re not afraid. What is there to be afraid of? You hating? You’ve been hating all your life. I used to cry but I’m sick and tired of it.
Now all there’s left to do is smile.
We’re not alone anymore. We have each other. We have our mission. We have our dreams. We have our hope that we will achieve them. We have our faith in our ways, and each other.
That’s us. Take it or leave it.
